This company was great! They answered the phone. They called me. They where on time, clean & neat and informative. This is the way a service company should work. Just a great job!

OK, I admit it. It was the name of the business that caught my eye! Having bought a house with a fireplace, I wanted the chimney checked out before my first fire. The chimney sweep arrived in a traditional hat (think Mary Poppins! ...

Would Not Recommend: Called the phone number listed and spoke with Don; seemed like a nice guy on the phone. Gave a quote of a flat rate of $125.00; scheduled a visit. One of his guys came by while I was gone and my fiance was home. The guy cleaned the chimney, but also brought some lint down from the roof and told my fiance that he had pulled it out of the dryer vent, and asked if she wanted him to go ahead and clean the rest. However, he didn't explain to her what that service actually was, and he failed to inform her that there was an extra $100 charge. Came back down and charged her $225.

I called Don when I came home to discuss the discrepency in price, and Don couldn't seem to admit fault in the manner with which his guy upsold the service. It became pretty apparent that he okays this type of practice. Anyway, then told me he would look into it further and never called back - unprofessional business; maybe out of the back of his truck. $100 must mean a great deal for him.

Bottom line: low integrity, untrustworthy - wouldn't recommend.

I contacted there guys to clean out the chimney and dryer vent. They arrived on time (a little early in fact), did a nice job cleaning out the chimney and vent, and gave some good advice on maintenance. Highly recommended and reasonably priced.

Don, the owner of Chiminy Cricket, promptly called me to discuss my dilemna with his tech, informed me that he had taken action, and refunded my money. He was straight forward in his response, assured me that the inspection and all were fine, and now we are enjoying our fireplace with ease. Thank you, Don, for your promptness in handling this. 5 STARS!
